About the Creator: Carol Brady is a musician and visual artist, and the creator of FLARE. She lives in Columbia, SC with her wife and two children.
The Story: FLARE follows two neighboring mothers as their spouses are deployed on opposite sides of a growing civil conflict. The story explores the work of mothering, inheritance, and what it means to keep choosing one another across generations.
"When the world asks us to choose sides, how do we choose each other instead?"
